Meet Your Sustainability Coordinator

Our full-time on-site Sustainability Coordinator works directly with the culinary team, operations managers, student experience team, and sourcing partners to optimize our practices and find new ways for you to get involved.

    My work centers on improving campus food access and making dining at FSU more sustainable. I earned my BA in Environmental Ethics from Appalachian State University and am now pursuing a Master’s in Sustainability Leadership at Arizona State University.

    Seminole Dining prioritizes ethical and sustainable purchasing to support people, animals, and the planet.

  • Minimizing Food Waste

    Reducing waste is central to our sustainability strategy, including food recovery, forecasting, and donation programs.

  • Operating Efficiently

    Behind the scenes, we improve operations with biodiesel, trayless dining, efficient equipment, and green cleaning.

  • Embedding Circularity

    We use tracking and forecasting tools to proactively identify food waste trends in order to alter our preparation accordingly.

    Enjoy dining on the go from our dining halls with OZZI, a reusable container program that reduces single-use waste while keeping meals convenient.

Through partnerships with local community organizations, Seminole Dining works to support students and foster positive impact on campus.

  • Food for Thought Pantry

    The Food for Thought Pantry is a vital resource for students on campus, providing access to nutritious food and immediate relief for those facing food insecurity. It helps ensure all students can focus on learning and thriving while at FSU. Learn more about how to get involved.

  • Food Recovery Network

    Surplus food from campus dining locations is collected and redistributed to organizations like the Food for Thought Pantry, reducing waste and supporting food access. Visit FRN's webpage to learn more about their efforts and find out how to volunteer. 

  • Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association

    Seminole Dining partners with the Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association to host the Seminole Dining Farmers Market, a biweekly event held on Thursdays at the Integration Statue. This recurring market creates a consistent, welcoming space for students to connect directly with local farmers and small vendors while supporting sustainability and strengthening community ties with Frenchtown.

  • Lucky Goat Coffee

    Lucky Goat Coffee is locally roasted in Tallahassee and proudly served across Seminole Dining locations in support of regional sourcing.

    Our campus donation bins make it easy to give non-perishable food items to support students facing hunger. Simply drop off your items at any of our convenient locations and help fuel our community.
