Meal Plans 101

Meal Swipes give you access to our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls, Suwannee Room and Seminole Café. As a part of our efforts to provide variety, flexibility, and convenience, you may also exchange one meal swipe per day for a cash equivalency swipe, worth a value of $7, at select retail locations on campus.

Once per day students can exchange one meal swipe for a $7 cash equivalency to be applied towards a meal at selected campus retail locations (the four Starbucks locations and all Convenience Store locations do not accept cash equivalency exchanges). If the total transaction is more than $7, the remaining balance can be paid with another form of payment including Dining Dollars, FSUCash, or credit card.

Dining Dollars may be used at any of the following locations:
Suwannee Room, Seminole Café, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Argo Tea, Bento Sushi at 1851, Brooklyn Pizza, Chick-fil-A, C.O.E Café, The Den, Doctor's Inn Market, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Jolt Café, Legal Provisions, Pollo Tropical, Panda Express, Panera Bread, Provisions on Demand, Proof at FSU, Shake Smart, Starbucks Dirac, Starbucks Strozier, Starbucks at the Union, Halal Shack, Subway, Tally Mac Shack at 1851, Three Torches, Trading Post, Joe Mama's at 1851, Vato Tacos at 1851, The Exchange Café, and The Exchange Market.

While it is not mandated that students living on-campus or off-campus have a Meal Plan, it is greatly encouraged for its convenience and value!

Students may enroll in a meal plan at any time; however, meal plan charges are not prorated. The full cost of the selected meal plan applies regardless of when during the semester the plan is purchased.

June 20, 2026 - Summer B Meal Plan Begins

July 3, 2026 - Summer B Payment Due

You received your 9-digit EMPLID during the admissions process. To find your EMPLID, visit FSUID Identity Management section in your myFSU portal.

Your meal plan will be billed to your myFSU account and can be viewed and paid online here.

Most financial aid may be applied toward Meal Plan charges; however, tuition and housing fees are prioritized first. We recommend contacting Student Finance via email at studentfinance@fsu.edu to confirm whether your specific financial aid can be used for a Meal Plan and, if so, how much may be available after tuition and housing charges are covered.

Meal Plans begin on the first day that Residence Halls open for the semester. Open/close dates for Residence Halls can be found here. Please note that meal plan activation may take 1–3 business days after the order is submitted.

It typically takes Student Finance 3-5 business days to apply a Meal Plan charge to a student’s myFSU account after a Meal Plan order is completed.

Dining Dollar purchases in addition to or separately from a meal plan cannot be charged to a student’s myFSU account and must be paid for at the time of purchase on our website.

Fall Meal Plans are a contract for one academic year (Fall - Spring). The plan amount will be billed to your myFSU student account in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Summer plans are a contract for one academic semester and do not renew. Spring plans are a contract for one academic semester and do not renew.

Students may downgrade a meal plan up until the last day before Residence Halls open/meal plans begin. Upgrades can be done at any time before or after a meal plan begins. To request a change to your meal plan, send an email to seminoledining@fsu.edu with your EMPLID number, name of the meal plan you want to change to, and brief reason for wanting to change. Do not place another order for the new meal plan through the website, as this will result in multiple charges to your student account.

Requests to change Spring meal plans will not be accepted until after November 1.

Any unused Dining Dollars will roll over each semester until graduation or separation from the University. Dining Dollars are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Meal Plan swipe and dining dollar balances, along with transaction history on both, can be found by logging into your eAccount.

We recommend pairing a campus meal plan with the sorority meal plan for added convenience and flexibility. While most sororities do offer meals served at set times at the sorority house, a campus meal plan provides broader access to dining options across campus. This allows students to grab meals or snacks in between classes or extracurricular activities when it may not be practical to return to the sorority house. Do note that not all sororities have a house and/or a meal plan.

Students who join a sorority or a fraternity with a meal plan included in the organization’s dues have an extended time to downgrade their meal plan. Students who qualify must present their bid card, MRABA, or verification letter to the Seminole Dining Office via email at seminoledining@fsu.edu within 5 business days of receiving their acceptance to be eligible for a meal plan downgrade. Be sure to include your EMPLID number and name of the plan you wish to downgrade to.

Meal plan holders will receive one container per academic year to use and reuse at our residential dining locations. To get your OZZI container, let the cashier at either Suwannee Room or Seminole Café know that you would like to redeem your OZZI swipe. They will instruct you to swipe your card, and then they will hand you your OZZI container. Bring the used container back to one of the dining halls for a new token. To receive a new container, present your OZZI token to the cashier who will hand over a clean container and to-go cup. Additional information on the OZZI program can be found here.

Up to three (3) guest swipes per semester may be donated to the FSU Food for Thought Pantry through the Fuel Your Fellow Nole program.

Seminole Dining offers mobile order pickup at select locations through the Transact Mobile Ordering App (Garnet and Go). Cash Equivalency and Dining Dollars are both accepted as payment in the app.
